Calling all parents! We often think of survivors o Calling all parents! We often think of survivors of intimate partner violence as adults, but you may be surprised to learn that 1 in 3 teens experience abuse in their romantic relationships before the age of 18.

February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month (TDVAM), so we wanted to host a Zoom parenting workshop to talk about promoting safety in teen dating. Join prevention educators Victoria and Meesh in to learn more about how you can promote healthy relationships in your teen’s dating life!

You’ll get an overview of the curriculum we provide to middle schoolers, learn what is healthy in a relationship and what is abusive, and have a chance to ask a student peer educator your questions about teens dating.

Thank you @chanel_miller for sharing these words and reminding us that continuing to ask the question “what can I do to make the world a better place?” means there is still hope that we can end the violences that plague us so. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ #Repost @chanel_miller

The theme for this year's Stalking Awareness Month The theme for this year's Stalking Awareness Month is "Know It. Name It. Stop It." This is because in order to stop stalking, we must first be able to know what it is and what signs to look for. One fact about stalking that isn't discussed enough is that it often co-occurs with other domestic and sexual violence control tactics. On average, intimate partner stalkers are the most threatening and dangerous kind, and stalking increases the risk of intimate partner homicide by three times. Learn more about how we can all commit to a world free from stalking at the link in bio. #NSAM2023 #KnowItNameItStopIt

I am just heartbroken by this one. Keenan Anderson was somebody’s high school ENGLISH TEACHER!? A DAMN TEACHER… and TASED him to death!? This man flagged down officers for help following his involvement in a CAR ACCIDENT!? And what did he get??? An overzealous and egotistical cop that triggered events that would steal his life.

NOTHING has improved since 2020! We STILL have NOT realized NATIONAL police reform! STILL. This time… we lost a TEACHER because of inaction. #justiceforkeenananderson #keenananderson

So to start off 2023, we wanted to quickly provide you with some ways you can take care of and recenter yourself today, or any time you feel out of sync with your body and needs. Love, NB 💜
As we've said before, the holidays can often be a As we've said before, the holidays can often be a heightened time emotionally for everyone. But the stress this time of year brings can also increase instances and the severity of abusive behaviors. Our DVHopeline will be here during the holidays to help with safety planning or to connect you with local resources. But we also wanted to share a guide created by The National Domestic Violence Hotline of things to consider when you are making a holiday-specific safety plan or are trying to support a survivor during the holidays.
