New Beginnings
As you may know, today is known as Giving Tuesday, As you may know, today is known as Giving Tuesday, an opportunity to come together as a community and invest in the lives of survivors.

At New Beginnings, we demonstrate our care for our community by providing services and programs to empower survivors and mobilize awareness and action to end domestic violence. But we're only able to provide essential services and programs with community partners like you.

$100, $50, $25, or $10 can make a difference in being able to provide assistance where survivors need it most. From support groups to housing assistance to mental health services, we are here to offer survivor-centered, trauma-informed support every step of the way. Link in bio <3

So whether you are able to invest financially in this work or can share this post to your social networks so more people can know about New Beginnings, show your care today for our participants + staff today!
We love Dreamland Foods! If you haven’t heard al We love Dreamland Foods! If you haven’t heard already, Dreamland invests in our programs to partner in our mission to support survivors and end domestic violence. Not only are they incredibly kind, but their products are tasty too (and can be found at many Seattle-area grocery stores)! Our Community Engagement Manager Neba loves their baba ghanoush with a freshly toasted pita.

Beyond their delicious food, we’re proud to have community partners like Dreamland Foods because they support a variety of social causes, and community thrives when we support local businesses that give back. So we're sharing Dreamland Foods post both so you can support their Palestinian-owned business and congratulate them on being a part of @yallaseattle's fundraiser for PCRF (an organization that is sending lifesaving medical relief and humanitarian aid to children in Gaza.)

Check out some of Dreamland Foods' own words below! <3

"Because we are a whole sale business, we find it hard to directly track the the sales of our end consumer who purchase our products in store from a specific day. While we understand it's great to have that feeling of knowing your money will directly impact and be used for something important, it makes more sense for us to instead donate a set amount. So that's what we did! We donated $2,000 to the PCRF who right now is sending crucial and life-saving medical relief and humanitarian aid to the children in Gaza.

It's important to note that your continued support of our business enables us to be able to donate to important causes such as this one. So while it may not be direct to this specific cause, your continued support of a Palestinian owned business is significant."
Youth in Focus has for years partnered with us to Youth in Focus has for years partnered with us to teach our younger participants how to express themselves through photography. So today we're very excited to highlight that they have opened the application process for their upcoming 2024 Creative Career Cohort!

Youth in Focus are recruiting BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) youth ages 15-19 (sophomores - seniors) for their 17-week-long program in the YIF Seattle office. During this time, students will be provided arts education, technical photography skills, work on real commercial projects, a supportive community, and a $1,400 stipend for participating!

This course provides a well-rounded exploration of photography, videography, graphic design, and creative direction. The aim is not mastery or proficiency but rather to expose youth to the professional tools of the trade and best prepare them for success in education, life, and career!

It is with deepest gratitude (and sadness) that we It is with deepest gratitude (and sadness) that we announce the retirement of Ginny Ware, our Home Safe Program Director. During her 37 incredible years at New Beginnings, Ginny has supported thousands of survivors in their journey to a life free from abuse.

Ginny has been a pillar in the domestic violence community, serving on committees and working groups, offering her expertise and experience to partner organizations, advocated for funding and policy change, and so much more. Truly, Ginny Ware is a one of a kind and we have been so very lucky to have her as part of the New Beginnings community for these 37 years. We are going to miss her tremendously!

If you feel so moved, you are welcome to celebrate Ginny with us in a variety of different ways! This includes: joining us for Ginny's Retirement party on November 29th, writing on her Kudos Board, or investing in our community by joining New Beginnings' Hope Network Monthly Donor Club at $37 a month (one dollar for every year Ginny dedicated to survivors) or a one-time gift in Ginny's honor!
