Anna Treadway has been involved with New Beginnings since she worked for the agency over two decades ago as a Community Advocate and Educator. Being part of the domestic violence movement in her twenties was a transformative experience for Anna and solidified a lifelong commitment to anti-violence work. After completing her MA in Education at the University of British Columbia, Anna worked for the City of Seattle’s Human Services Department managing grants and contracts for seven years. She currently works for the University of Washington’s Center for Child and Family Well-being, helping to manage a research project offering mindfulness-based parenting support to low-income, first-time moms. Her main job, though, is being mom to her two delightful and energetic kids, aged 4 and 6, and she and her husband love raising them in Seattle. Anna is also active with her kids’ schools, and over the years, has served on the boards of Girls on the Run Puget Sound as well as the Cooperative Children’s Center.
