I choose New Beginnings because it is at the forefront of survivor-driven programming and am impressed by its willingness to try innovative ideas.
Aja (pronounced “Asia”) has over 25 years of nonprofit experience and joined the New Beginnings team in 2022. She has a background in anti-oppression and anti-racism and in the Fine Arts, and this unique combination of educational experience leads to creative risk taking and problem solving when it comes to her issue advocacy.
Aja is a Taíno Boricua/Puerto Rican and white cis woman who loves Star Trek, does multiple crosswords a day, and spends time with her family and many pets.
One fun fact about Aja: She can sometimes be found singing on stage or participating in community theater when time allows!
